REE FEST

"Innovation happens at fringes and intersections"

"Spinning-out" of this year's Stanford Roundtable on Entrepreneurship Education (REE) Europe in Edinburgh will be dynamic showcase-type of event "REE Fest".

We welcome student, researcher, alumni and educator exhibitors. This site is for those who wish to register as exhibitors.

Educators will be bring their own A0 size landscape poster. Our poster boards are set for landscape. Please see this wikipedia entry for paper sizes comparisons and international conversions:

Designers and Start-ups will use various exhibit types. 1200 mm tables will be provided, up to 2 per exhibitor, if needed. 


The deadline for registration as an exhibitor is 11:59 PM GMT on Wednesday the 25th of August 2010.

This year's European REE Fest will showcase be open to the wider community of Scotland and beyond. We welcome guests from government, business, higher education, and non-govermental organizations to attend, as well as others who might share an interest in entrepreneurship and design. Part art show, part business start-up fair, and part academic poster session, REE Fest promises the sharing of ideas and creative energy at the intersection of design, entrepreneurship, and education.  Innovation happens at the fringes and intersectionsREE Fest 2010 will showcase the innovative pedagogies and platforms of entrepreneurship educators, the brilliant works of design and art students, and the ambitious start-up plans of student entrepreneurs. Exhibitors will display posters, demonstrate products, and use other forms of communication to communicate their work and passions. REE Fest is an opportunity to experience what is new, exciting and innovative, to celebrate student entrepreneurship, and learn about the innovative methods and programmes that are teaching entrepreneurship at higher education institutions around the globe. Complimentary wine, beer, juice will be served. All exhibitors will be listed in the REE exhibitor directory.

We welcome entries from the folllowing three categories:


Student, Alumni, or Researcher Business Start-up

You can enter in the student start-up category if you are currently enrolled as a student in a European University, or are a recent graduate of one (within 18 months). We are also open to Alumni or Researchers as well who have recently founded new firms (within the last 3 years). You may bring your own A0 size landscape poster.  You may wish to have a demonstration of a product, including a software application or website, and need power and a table. You must bring your own laptop. If you have other products to demonstrate, please let us know so that we might make room for you to do so. Also, you might wish to bring slide copies, executive summaries, and business plans for distribution. You do not have to register for the formal Stanford REE Europe to exhibit or attend the REE Fest as a student. A reference from a lecturer or professor will be required.

Student Art or or Design Project

You can enter in the design or art student category if you are currently enrolled as a student in a European University, or area a recent graduate of one (within 18 months). You may or may not have commercial aspirations for your project, we welcome both.  Student exhibitors do not have to be registered for the entire Stanford REE Europe to attend and exhibit. Please indicate if you are entering a 3rd year project, 4th year degree work,or graduate work. At this time we are offering a 1200 mm table or two. All other kit must be provided by the exhibitor.  A reference from a lecturer or professort will be required.

Entrepreneurship or Design Education: Innovative Pedgogy or Programme

Registered attendees to the full Stanford REE Europe conference are welcome to exhibit a poster showcasing their innovative entrepreneurship or design pedgogies or programmes.  Poster sizes should be A0 landscape, and attendees will bring their own posters. For design educators who wish to exhibit work, we will provide space and some kit, please check back towards the end of the week on what we will provide.


Approval:

All entries will be approved by the REE organizing team.  The programme will be limited to 32 participants.


Exhibitor set-up time and place:

Exhibitor poster set-up will be held between 9:00 am and 12:00 Noon on Wednesday the 8th of September in the Forum. Please allow yourself at least one hour to set up. If you have a laptop, you should come back at 4.30pm to set up before the start at 5.00 pm. Our friendly staff will help guide you to your location according to our floor plan.

During REE Fest

Exhibitors should stand near their posters during the REE Fest from 17.00-19.30, and explain their project, answer questions, and give demonstrations if suitable.

 

Our partner, Launch.ed, will be helping to gather start-ups from the University of Edinburgh.

Launch.ed is a student  support service at the University of Edinburgh that  helps students and recent graduates to develop their business ideas and startup in business. The service is delivered by Edinburgh Research and Innovation.
